Northwestern Pennsylvania Psychological Association
BYLAWS
ARTICLE I: PURPOSE
The Purpose of the Association will be:
- To enhance and advance relationships among professional psychologists in Northwestern Pennsylvania.
- To further the application of psychology as a field of scientific inquiry and professional practice.
- To promote quality psychological service for the betterment of human welfare through the maintenance of the ethical standards of the American Psychological Association and the Pennsylvania Psychological Association.
ARTICLE II: OFFICERS
The officers of this organization shall be President, President-Elect (Vice President), and Secretary-Treasurer.
- The President shall serve as chairperson of the Executive Committee. The term of the office of the President shall be for one year. He/she will be succeeded in the office by the President-Elect.
- The President-Elect will serve on the Executive Committee and will assume the office of the President in the event that the President cannot fulfill his/her term of office.
- The Secretary-Treasurer will keep all records of the organization, conduct correspondence for the organization, and be responsible for the duties of treasurer.
ARTICLE III: BYLAW AMENDMENTS
The organization’s bylaws may be amended by approval of a quorum of the general membership, as recommended by the Executive Committee.
ARTICLE VII: COMMITTEES
The Executive Committee, made up of the President, President-Elect, Secretary-Treasurer, and immediate past President, shall be empowered to establish policy and make decisions consistent with the interests of the organization. The Executive Committee shall also be empowered to establish standing committees as needed.
ARTICLE VI: MEETINGS
- Meetings shall be established by the Executive Committee
- At business meetings, a quorum shall consist of those members present.
ARTICLE V: NOMINATIONS AND ELECTIONS
- The nominations of officers for voting by the membership shall be made by a Nominating Committee appointed by the Executive Committee.
